Celebrate International Dog Day with Our New Threadpaw Dogwear

Why not spoil your dog with a Threadpaw jackets? To celebrate International Dog Day and our furry best friends, we have launched a brand new collection of dog jackets to ensure your pooch is always looking paw-fect! We now have a variety of different dog jackets - from printed styles to hooded jackets to pack-away macs - to ensure your dog is the best dressed in the family.

Don't let the British weather ruin your dog walks, our dog rain coats are weather-appropriate and will make even the moodiest of dog walkers compliment your pup when you're out and about. We have designed our jackets in three different sizes (S, M, L) and they come with a hood, are lightweight and are machine washable so muddy puddles are not a problem. Oh, and it packs into its own bag as well! Making it easy to carry when the sun comes out.

We have picked out a few of our favourite jackets for you to take a look at, modelled by Threadpaw pups (our colleagues' pups, of course!) and the cutest dog-fluencers in the U.K.

How the (best) national holiday started

The first Dog Day was celebrated back in 2004, when Colleen Paige, animal welfare activist and pet lifestyle expert, decided to commerate the day they adopted their first dog "Sheltie" from their local animal shelter in the U.S.

On International Dog Day, Colleen encourages us to support all breeds and varieties of dogs, and raise awareness for the kind, fair, ethical care for our pets. It is also a day to highlight the purchase of dogs from unethical backyard breeders and puppy mills, and Colleen wants the day to always inspire people to buy dogs from recognised breeders, or most importantly, adopt from rescue shelter.

The National Dog Day website states:

“Our mission is to help galvanise the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year and acknowledge family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort."

Now you may be asking yourself... Should I get my dog a raincoat?

We firmly believe: yes, you should. Of course, and we are definitely biaised, your pup may not need one, but they're sure to look super cute in any type of clothing! Dogs deserve to go viral too!

Raincoats for dogs are certainly not new, but have you ever seen ones as stylish as our Threadpaw ones? Prove us wrong. And hey, isn't the world a much better place with dogs in clothes in it?!

If your dog isn't fussy wearing an artificial layer, then styling them in a rain coat for walks in the park isn't a bad idea. Adding extra warmth with a microfleece layer, our Threadpaw raincoats will have your pooch strutting their stuff as they make new friends in the park. We're sure you'll be the envy of other dog owners in the park.
